A three-zone domestic-grade chain rather than a single pair of horns: KEF R3s cover the front listening line, JBL L82s fill the bar, and KEF LS50s cover the rear so conversation and records can share Old City’s compact floor. NAD C-3050 and Parasound power keep the small monitors clean at conversation level; the Pro-Ject EVO with Sumiko is the album deck, while an Ecler WARM2 rotary takes over when a selector is in. The split speaker plan is why the room works as a gathering place instead of a single sweet-spot kissa — coverage first, spectacle second.

About the sound system

How the system serves the room

48 Record Bar distributes KEF R3, JBL L82 and KEF LS50 pairs between the front, bar and rear. The Pro-Ject source supports album listening, while the Ecler WARM2 provides rotary control for DJ programming.

Several pairs can improve coverage across a social space without making one listening position dominate the volume setting. The trade-off is the need to balance their different outputs and the regions where they overlap. The listed NAD and Parasound amplification does not fully document the channel assignment or delay settings.
