Inside the system

Technics, Tannoy, E&S and Parasound remain Cornerstore’s official equipment credits. In a September 2021 interview, co-owner Bob Nagel described two Tannoy SRM 15X and two SRM 12X loudspeakers, additional Tannoy subwoofers and an E&S DJR400 mixer. This is the documented 2021 setup; the current venue page does not confirm the model list.

Bar Shiru combines Line Magnetic 812-LM Altec Iconic horns, DeVore O93 Orangutans and three pairs of Dynaudio X18 speakers. Amplification includes Line Magnetic 805-IA and 34-IA valve integrateds plus three Parasound Halo A23+ amplifiers. The inventory spans several speaker and amplifier types; individual channel assignments are not specified. The vinyl front end includes an SME20 and a VPI SuperScoutmaster with JMW arm, Ortofon 2M Black cartridges, Line Magnetic LP-33 phono stages and a custom Isonoe ISO420 rotary mixer. The combination gives record playback a substantial dedicated signal chain before it reaches the room’s multiple speaker positions.

Three speaker pairs serve different areas: KEF R3s at the front listening line, JBL L82s at the bar and KEF LS50s at the rear. NAD C-3050 and Parasound amplification support the installation, with a Pro-Ject EVO and Sumiko cartridge for vinyl playback and an Ecler WARM2 rotary mixer for selectors. The layout distributes the programme across several positions with separate pairs for the front, bar and rear. Curtains and upholstery form part of the room finish, linking the coverage plan with the listening environment.
