Hatchett project: oversized semi-active four-way studio-style monitors with Linea Research amplification. Semi-active four-ways give Smithfield a studio’s headroom and pattern control in a bar plan — more even than a vintage horn, more serious than a restaurant pair. These notes are for the original bar, not automatically for neighbouring Fidelity Studio.

The original Fidelity Bar describes a custom installation intended to preserve musical clarity while allowing conversation. It is a useful distinction: the stated design goal is comfortable, social listening.

Fidelity Studio is a separate music space within the venue’s wider offering.

How the system serves the room

Fidelity’s original bar uses Hatchett’s semi-active four-way monitors with Linea Research amplification. Dividing reproduction across several bands gives the designer scope to match drivers to different frequency ranges, while the semi-active arrangement introduces separate control of parts of the system.

That flexibility also makes crossover integration and level alignment essential. These details concern the original bar and should not be transferred to the neighbouring Fidelity Studio without its own specification.
