Hatchett

Toby Hatchett designs and builds custom sound systems. His Dublin work includes semi-active four-way monitors at Fidelity and The Big Romance, with bespoke furniture and treatment also credited at the latter.

Design & approach

Hatchett designs and handcrafts audio work from a workshop in West Cork, Ireland. Its stated interest is the relationship between sound and space. The linked projects show that scope extending beyond a speaker cabinet into consoles, record storage and acoustic treatment where those elements are documented.

  • DJ console / acoustic panels: bespoke vinyl-oriented console and room treatment

Inside the system

Hatchett developed custom semi-active four-way monitors using mixed-manufacturer drivers and Hypex amplifier modules.
