Bar Neiro ↗

Equipment in use

Bar Neiro lists Schick in its source / playback setup. The equipment details below reflect the venue record.

  • Tonearm: 12-inch

Inside the system

Bar Neiro builds its analogue chain around Altec A5 components in Western Electric 825 cabinets: 515B woofers, 1505B horns and 288C compression drivers, supplemented by Fostex T90A supertweeters. Shindo Cortese 300B amplification uses Western Electric 300B valves, with a Shindo Monbrison preamplifier. The source is a Garrard 301 with an A23 Hommage mat and 12-inch Schick arm. Audio-Technica ART1000 and VM750SH cartridges provide alternative pickup options, with Auditorium 23 cabling. High-efficiency horn loading and low-power valve amplification are central to the design, within an acoustically considered room.

ESP hi-fi ↗

Equipment in use

ESP hi-fi lists Schick in its source / playback setup. The equipment details below reflect the venue record.

  • Tonearms: 12-inch; custom headshells and cartridges

Inside the system

Audio Grail-restored Garrard 401 turntables with 12-inch Thomas Schick arms feed a Condesa Carmen rotary mixer. Two Line Magnetic 845IA single-ended Class A integrated amplifiers accompany vintage Klipschorns and lowboy Cornwalls. The main horn speakers and back-bar Cornwalls give the installation separate listening positions within the same loudspeaker family. The combination of efficient speakers, valve amplification and restored turntables is the defining feature of the analogue chain.

Historical installation

Two 12-inch Schick tonearms were fitted to the venue’s Garrard 301s, mounted in custom Vinylista plinths.

  • Original turntables: 2 × Garrard 301 with 12-inch Schick arms in Vinylista plinths (Garrard / Thomas Schick / Vinylista)

Inside the system

The original Arts District bar used Klipschorn AK6 mains and modified Heresy speakers at the bar. Audio Note Jinro Shochu and M5 electronics served the main installation, with a McIntosh 6100 also in the system. Two Garrard 301s carried 12-inch Schick arms in Vinylista plinths, alongside a Condesa rotary mixer. The 2021 NeueHouse residency used a different combination: Graham LS5/8 monitors with EAR 509 monoblocks and a 912 linestage/phono stage. These are separate historical installations, each with its own speaker and amplifier pairing.
