  • Speakers: Custom stainless-steel loudspeakers for MOGO

Inside the system

H.A.N.D. HiFi built MOGO’s bespoke loudspeaker installation, with large bass cabinets integrated into the record shelving and satellites distributed around the room. The pair beside the DJ booth has stainless-steel finishes and is credited to H.A.N.D. HiFi and Sound Metaphors; the suspended speakers are clad in burl-wood veneer. H.A.N.D. stands for Have A Nice Day and is the custom sound-system project associated with Sound Metaphors, the Berlin record shop, label and DJ partnership of Castro Moore and Nemo Ripoll. Its approach begins with the room, the music and how the space will be used, with drivers, crossovers, cabinet materials and finishes selected for each commission. At MOGO, the installation brings the speakers into the architecture, combining the main listening area with coverage throughout the restaurant. A vintage McIntosh amplifier forms part of the setup, with its model reported as the MC2300. The exact turntable and mixer models remain unconfirmed.
