Design & approach
NAD began in 1972 with a focus on useful engineering and accessible performance. Its account highlights the work of Bjorn Erik Edvardsen and the 3020 amplifier, followed by modular construction and later digital-amplification developments. This history helps explain the brand’s interest in practical, adaptable electronics without assuming that a venue chose a product for any particular reason.
