Trader HiFi

The room

Coffee by day, listening by night.

Custom horns and supporting speakers by Berlin’s H.A.N.D. HiFi; models unpublished. Founder Vincent von Thien describes cork and acoustic wool controlling the compact Hamburg room. The treatment is as important as the horns: a small coffee-by-day, listening-by-night space only works if the custom cabinets are not fighting bare plaster.

About the sound system

How the system serves the room

At Trader HiFi, the equipment record identifies H.A.N.D. HiFi Custom horns and supporting speakers; component models not published. A horn-based approach can provide useful dynamic headroom, but aiming the speakers and balancing direct sound against room reflections remain central to shared listening.

Placement, room acoustics and operating level still determine the result. Published information does not establish all amplifier assignments, processing settings or the reasons behind the original purchase.

Technical interpretation based on the documented equipment; selection motives and measured in-room performance are not confirmed.
