The room
At 3670 Kempt Road, Stillwell puts recorded music into a working brewery setting. The taproom also hosts events, from DJ nights to food pop-ups and makers’ markets.
This is the brewery location, separate from Stillwell’s other Halifax bars. Its hi-fi programme grew around co-founder Chris Reynolds’s interest in creating a place to spend time with records and beer.

Sound system
The Coast’s opening report describes custom horn-loaded loudspeakers assembled from second-hand audio components, with additional low-frequency support and a dedicated turntable booth. The builder and exact models are not named, so no manufacturer is assigned to the complete system.
