Three Ballard rooms, three systems. HiFi room: Klipschorns with Luxman L-505uXii. Bar: JBL Heritage 100s, Naim NAC72 and NAP140. Lounge: Cathode Bias / Café Sound bespoke 15-cell horns with dual 15-inch woofers. Front end across the project includes Technics SL-1200 MK2 and a Bozak AR4 rotary. Keep the rooms separate: corner Klipschorns for the dedicated listen, Naim/JBL for the bar, and a custom multicell lounge pair when the brief is theatre-scale midrange.

About the sound system

How the system serves the room

Shibuya Hi-Fi deliberately separates three listening environments: Klipschorns with Luxman in the HiFi room, JBL speakers with Naim electronics at the bar, and Cathode Bias’s bespoke horn system in the lounge. These should not be described as one interchangeable inventory.

Giving each area its own system allows placement, coverage and operating level to respond to how that space is used. The common Technics and Bozak source/control vocabulary connects the rooms’ record-playing culture, while the different loudspeaker arrangements give each space a distinct engineering task.
