Memphis Listening Lab
The room
Inside Crosstown Concourse, Memphis Listening Lab opens a large collection of singles, LPs, CDs and music history to public listening and study. The free archive on the East Atrium’s second floor offers a different kind of music destination: one built around access to a collection.
A dedicated SoundRoom supports listening across physical and digital formats. Album events, performances and listening sessions bring people together around it, while a production studio is available by appointment.

Sound system
Jim Thompson of EgglestonWorks worked with architects and studio designers on the SoundRoom. Construction materials, wall surfaces and playback equipment were developed as an integrated project. The room supports physical and digital sources for the public archive, extending its purpose beyond vinyl alone.
