Horn loudspeakers and custom systems / Germany
Martion Audiosysteme builds horn loudspeakers in Berlin, from compact point-source monitors to large active systems. Founded by Basil Martion, the company combines spherical-wave horns, custom finishes and room-specific integration; its speakers form the system at Yoyaku in Paris.
Basil Martion studied studio technology at Berlin’s Technical University and co-founded Arcus in 1973. In 1976 he established a separate company with two engineers to develop horn loudspeakers, presenting the Exodus spherical-wave horn at the 1977 radio exhibition. Later designs include the active Orgon system and the compact Bullfrog monitor.

The range spans several approaches to horn loading. Einhorn pairs a 54 cm mid/high-frequency horn with an 18-inch corner-bass horn in an active two-way system, with analogue or digital electronics. Bullfrog places a 15-inch bass driver and central horn in a compact two-way monitor, offered in active and passive versions. Horn colours, cabinet finishes and mounting arrangements can be tailored to the installation.
